Moreland City Council actively encourages its employees to participate in activities and programs that develop skills. The organisation wanted a program aimed at existing and aspiring leaders, to help develop key competencies required for effective leadership. The Moreland ‘Current and Aspiring Leaders Program’ offers the opportunity to change the way that people do their jobs, by changing how they think about their roles. As a result of the program staff now demonstrate leadership capability. All participants feel that they are more effectively managing communication with their peers, and say that they have a greater understanding of self and how this impacts their interactions with others.
